The World Ifá Festival 2020 is launched today in Ilé Ife, although this year adapted to the restrictions of the coronavirus that affects the whole world. So this year will not take place the massive pilgrimages of Babalawo and believers of all Yoruba lineages from Nigeria to participate in the celebrations.
Despite these restrictions, the World Ifá Festival will be held as usual during this first week of June and will end on Sunday, June 7, after the realization, at the first hour of Saturday in the temple of Oke Itase, of world Ifá divination for the year (Oke Itase 2020), in which Olodumare’s message for the next twelve months will be announced.
“We implore all Ifá practitioners to join us in spirit and pray along with us to make this year’s festival successful and for a benevolent Odù Ifá to emerge. May Olodumare bless us with every good things we desire during and after this year’s World Ifá Festival. Ase!”, affirm from the Araba and Oluwos International Forum.
The Araba of Ilé Ife will direct the divination, which is in charge of making the minor babalawo in the Ifá temple. Once the sign is revealed, the elders talk about what Ifá warns in the Odù, and then perform the ceremonies that allow cleaning it.
As every year, on Saturday morning in Ilé Awo we will simultaneously follow this divination from Nigeria and we will present you in scoop the sign revealed in the Oke Itase 2020. The first advance will be published in Ilé Awo and through the applications Ifá Tradicional, Ifá Tradicional Pro, Ojú Odù and Apola Ogbè will have detailed information on the Ifá Say, and the Akose that are recommended to bring about all kinds of luck and overcome all obstacles.
It is important to remember that all Ifá followers in the world who practice traditional religion must perform the ebo and ceremonies marked by the sign, as well as take into account the warnings of the Odù throughout the year, as demonstrated in the Oke Itase 2019 in which Ifá revealed the current situation of the coronavirus.
