Tomorrow, Saturday, June 1, one of the most anticipated moments of the Oke Itase 2024 festival<\/strong> will take place: the World Ifa Divination. This event, held annually in Ile Ife, Nigeria<\/strong>, marks a culminating point in the festival<\/a> and is followed by If\u00e1 practitioners worldwide.<\/a> Over the past week, we have witnessed a series of deeply significant ceremonies and rituals, all leading up to this crucial moment.<\/p>\n

The Oke Itase festival began on Sunday, May 26, with the Iwole Ojugbona<\/strong>, an opening ceremony that took place from morning till night. During this inaugural day, ceremonies and rituals were held in honor of If\u00e1, filled with prayers and offerings to bless the start of the festival. Afterwards, the sacred herbs of If\u00e1 were collected, essential for the practices and ceremonies that took place during the festival. This ceremony is fundamental as the collected herbs are used in various rituals throughout the year. Additionally, offerings were made to various Orisa such as Esu, Ogun, Oranfe, Obatala, Aje, Olokun, Osun, and Osara. These offerings and rituals aim to ensure the guidance and protection of these powerful Orisa throughout the year.<\/p>\n

This Friday, May 31, activities included If\u00e1 conferences at Obafemi Awolowo University, where experts and If\u00e1 practitioners shared their knowledge and experiences. Additionally, a vibrant carnival in honor of If\u00e1, with music, dance, and traditional costumes, was celebrated. The day concluded with a procession and ritual walk from the Oke Itase temple, uniting the community in a show of faith and celebration.<\/p>\n

Tomorrow: The World Ifa Divination at Oke Itase 2024<\/h4>\n

Tomorrow, June 1, will be the grand finale of the Oke Itase 2024 festival. The day will begin with a procession from the Oke Itase temple to the Ooni’s palace, followed by the Ooni’s visit to the temple. The Ooni of Ile Ife, the spiritual leader of If\u00e1 worldwide, will bless the participants and officiate sacred rituals, marking the start of the World Ifa Divination.<\/p>\n

During this divination, the If\u00e1 sign that will govern the Yoruba year will be revealed. This Odu If\u00e1 will provide guidance and predictions on the events and challenges that will be faced in the coming year. The babalawo will explain If\u00e1’s designs and the necessary ceremonies and sacrifices to ensure all the predicted blessings. At Ile Awo, we will reveal, once again, the Odu If\u00e1 of Oke Itase.<\/p>\n
