We want to express our deep regret at the death today of Ifatoki Akangbe Ifa eye, the oluawo of Alaafin de Oyo<\/a> and our teacher of If\u00e1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Baba Ifatoki was a prominent and highly respected Ifa priest within Oyo State, with vast knowledge of the religion that he passed down to his children, the community, and us for many years. We are honored to have learned If\u00e1 for so many years from his hand and his loss is especially painful for us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We wish Baba Ifatoki’s reunion with the ancestors and Olodumare to be happy and from there to continue helping us by Orunmila. We also hope that his family and all the people we learned from him will find comfort in the If\u00e1 teachings that he instilled in us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tomorrow will be the last Oro (Prayers) and then continue with the ituto (burial ceremony).<\/p>\n"},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
