Oke Itase Festival 2025 Celebration
The culmination of the Oke Itase Festival 2025 is here, the most important date for those of us who follow the traditional practice of Ifá. After a week of intense ceremonies and preparatory rituals, today at Ilé Awo we have the honor of exclusively sharing the sign that will guide the next twelve months, revealed during the global Ifá divination held at dawn in Ile Ife. This year, hundreds of practitioners gathered at the Ọ̀kè Itase temple to take part in the procession that departed at sunrise toward the Ooni’s palace, where the spiritual leader blessed the community with purification rituals, offerings of Ọpẹ̀ (the sacred palm), and ọbì àbàtà, thus marking the high point of Oke Itase 2025.
The peak moment came when the Babalawos performed the global Ifá divination. The sign revealed is Ọ̀túrúpọ̀n Méjì, in Ire Aiku. Ifá reveals that people will receive well-being in all its forms—wealth, a strong partner, honorable children, and long life—thanks to their special connection with Òṣun. However, the sign emphasizes the importance of humility, spiritual discipline, and community collaboration. To maintain the blessing of Ire Aiku, it is essential to listen to the advice of elders, repair broken relationships, and act responsibly within the family and social environment.
Throughout the coming year, the teachings of Ọ̀túrúpọ̀n Méjì will guide our decisions: every important decision, every project, and every union will be influenced by the clarity and protection this sign brings. Ifá warns us that although prosperity is abundant under this Odu, challenges will also arise—hidden enemies, betrayals, and tests of character—that can only be overcome through the proper practice of sacrifices.
